I was quite distraught on my arrival as I exited from the wrong side of the train station and had to walk uphill with my heavy luggage. Did not meet anyone else in the hostel other than my Austrian roomates. It is located in the middle of nowhere. but the train station is really close and you can head to the city center very easily.

I thought the owner was very, very nice. The hostel was not bad. It's about a 20 minute Metro ride to Placa Catalunya, but the Metro Reina Elisenda is just down the street from the hostel. You have to wait for the bathroom sometimes because there is only one per floor unless you book a private room. If you're by the window, you might be bothered by the ping pong table.
It was pretty far from the city center, you had to take the metro to the end of the line.
