The location is excellent, but the room is really small. I do not mind since there is so much to do in New York and I only stay at the room when I am about to go to sleep. There is a small desk and TV in the room. That is sufficient for one person. I will definitely come back again.

very good hostel, only needs a cafeteria or a coffee machine 24h. for those lazy guys who choose not to go out for dinner, and maybe some hangers, a desk or bed lamp and an extra pillow on the room for reading and also a better sleep.

Customer Service Counter staff were unattentive, uncaring, discourteous, short and curt, unsmiling; they volunteered nothing; I had to ask for Y info; I had to interrupt their personal conversations to get attention. It appeared all they were interested in was processing the body.

For about 80 bucks a night, you can't beat it. Sure, it's not Hotel W, and the mattress is thin, the blanket is like a sheet of paper, but you have good A/C, fridge, and TV with Cable. I would stay there again because it is one of the cheapest single rooms you can get in NY. One thing though - it's all the way on the East side. A little bit of a walk to get anywhere - but you're on vacation and should be walking anyway!

Good location, close to everything.
Air conditioning was VERY loud! Was able to open windows, bonus.
Shower facilities were just adequate, but clean could use some more hooks or shelves for toiletry items.
Stayed for 5 days, rooms were very musty and dusty found it hard to breath at times.If you have allergies not a good place.
Unable to determine if vacuumed since same dirt was there for entire stay.Same sheets for entire stay and towels were not replaced everyday either.

The Vanderbuilt was a great place to stay on my trip...it was nice to know your items were safe in the room, and you get to use all the amenities of the club on your stay...added bonus for a YMCA! Would recommend to anyone - affordable & staff was very helpful.

I was really satisfied with my staying in the hotel. I would definately choose to stay again in the same hotel. The next time i am coming i don;t want to stay anywhere else. Only there.The staff, the facilities , cleanliness......everything was just perfect.....
