i dunno, the cleaner person is great, he keeps everything tight, but AC turned off until 10pm, internet is R$3 per hour, Breakfast is bread and cheese...seriously...thats it...the whole week i was there. Misquitos are TERRIBLE there, no screens on the windows and everything is wide open...not much security. bathrooms have the electric shower head thats warm not hot and its super small. THERE is absolutely no private baths in the place. it was far from ipanema and copacabana...i would recommend t

The hostel as a whole was pretty good. The staff spoke English and were very helpful with basic touristy info. The room was cool, the shower was hot. The only negatives were that the bed was very uncomfortable and the bathroom ran out of toilet paper daily. Make sure to have your own as a back-up.

I really enjoyed my stay at Vila Carioca. I felt completely safe the entire time I stayed there. The staff was so wonderful to me, so helpful and caring! I will be back very soon.
