the hostel is clean and the room is lovely, very good value for money as it isnt overpriced! there arent lockers but we have a key to the room and the hostel is very safe. the guy who runs it is very friendly and helpful and even lets us have our breakfast late when we dont get up in time, its a very good breakfast I might add! I would recommend this place, we originally only booked one night here as we didnt want to commit too much to paying for a hostel that had bad previous reviews, but no

Was easy and quick to get to from Novo Rio bus terminal. I took a cab there and arrived at the start of a favela where a young Mulato insisted he´d take me up to the pousada and then took my bag out of the cab for me. Poor guy carried this heavy bag right to the top and when we got there I gave him R$5, he didnt ask for it but I thought he earned it. Anyway he gentled hustled for a bit more but then gave up and went. All in all I found everyone in the favela from the young to the old very frien
