We stayed at this 'hostel' primarily b/c it was one of few hostels in this tiny cinq terre village. It's not really a hostel at all. It's a booking office that lets out apartments. However with that said, I'd highly recommend it. We were there very early hoping to check in and hike the cinq terre. They showed up to open the office before their posted opening hours and were happy to let us dump our bags for the day. (not secured, but we did lock them to a pipe in the room - lots of others had bags tossed there too, honor system) When we returned in the evening we were led to our apartment which was on top of the world. From our balcony, we had a view to die for (of the village below us and the ocean). We booked a double room, and ended up with a studio apartment, complete with kitchen. It was up 5 flights of stairs which would be a problem for some, but I suspect most people destined for the cinq terre are at least moderately in good shape. The office was easy to find from the train station (ask there for directions - you have to walk through a sketcy tunnel) and the staff was happy to recommend a restaurant high on the hill overlooking the village and ocean that mostly only locals know about. Unfortunately it was closed the day we were there but we walked by it and it looked amazing.

The guys running this place are very nice and friendly. Gave me a good deal on the price and moved me into a place that I liked better (had stayed there previously) when I requested it. The room I stayed in is right next to the train tracks but that was no problem for me because I loved hearing the trains rumbling by at night, its such a part of the Cinque Terre experience. Had a great view of the ocean. Very clean and pretty.

location was perfect on the main street in riomaggiore, useful kitchen, pretty spacious apartment, beds were less than comfortable, over nice stay.

If you are looking for something cheap and in central in the Cinque Terre for a couple of nights, then this is a good place. You'll get a relatively clean apartment right near the walking tracks. Just be sure to advise if checking in after 5pm as you may have some difficulties doing so. The bar up the road is pretty cool to hang out and have a glass fo wine.
