The hostel is of a "shabby" character, but provides you with what you need. You get a bed, a shower and toilet, and a great location for a cheap price. So if you're a boy this probably is a good place to stay, but if you're a girl or traveling with your girlfriend, then stay away from this hostel! The reason that I say this is because the staff harasses girls, and treats their boyfriends rudely. There's also just a small unisex bathroom, so you better not be shy :p

Here's what I liked about the New Swedish Hostel: -It's very cheap. (I stayed in the 12-bunk dorm room.) -The location is phenomenal. (Just off the Jaffa Gate.) -The staff is friendly and very chill. -Free coffee and tea. The bathrooms are a little small, but they were always very clean, which is the most important thing. Also, I never had a problem getting a hot shower in the morning or at night. Bottomline: If I return to Jerusalem again, I will be staying at the New Swedish Hostel.

Good value for the money but very bleak and cramped.

A good place to stay in the old town. One of the owners we met is a really nice and helpful guy, one of the other members of staff is - lets put it like this - difficult and full of hate against everyone. Don't take him to serious!
