Great Place, 5 mins from centre but peaceful, friendly owners can book bus tickets direct, good off season rates.

Good cheap hotel. Awesome staff: owners Steven and Lily are always hanging around in foyer, and are able to book tickets, but also give free advice. Good Mandarin and English. 10 minute walk to West Street, which IMHO is just right (West Street is quite noisy). Had no trouble with noise at night. 2 supermarkets, close by for snacks and drinks. Lots of hot water, free unsecured wi-fi in rooms, 3 yuan/hour for Windows PC downstairs. Would go back, or recommend. Kettle in room. No safe in room.

Really nice place, probably the best and cleanest place we stayed at in China. Definitely a good choice for couples rather then the lonesome traveller as the common room is moreso a lobby. Be warned if you book a bus ticket to Hong Kong, do not pay the extra 10 yuan for the seccond bus from Shenzen to the border as it actually only costs 2 yuan and you never receive the bus ticket anyhow.
