Our stay here was very nice, we really liked the place. The shower was tiny and if you took a shower you got the whole bathroom floor wet, which made it dangerously slippery for a little while, but overall everything was very nice and clean, and pleasant. There was a bus stop right there, so if you didn't have a car you could still get to central Dublin, but you have to be really careful about the buses, as they're pretty confusing. Overall, we really enjoyed the room, and if I ever go back to Dublin, I would be happy to return to DCU.

Ballymun Rd entrance is really far away from the Whitehall Church bus stop. I'd recommend taking a bus into the City Centre (O'Connell St.) and then taking the 11, 11A, 13A, or 19A to one bus stop past the "On the Run" tanking station. It's longer on the bus, but a lot less of a walk!
