Place was easy enough to find & not in a terrible location, but the rooms & restrooms were filthy & run down. Bathrooms horrible - toilets & floors were never clean, the doors and lights were broken, and there were dead bugs everywhere. Showers were cleaner, but fixtures busted. Broken lights and fixtures in bathroom & guest room. The staff wasn't particularly friendly unless you spoke Hungarian (btw, the default foreign language in Balaton seems to be German, not English) but were otherwise ok. I wouldn't recommend this hostel to anybody not on a serious budget, and even then I'm sure you could find vacation homes or other much better accomodation for a similar price. Try other areas around Balaton, or skip it altogether for Budapest & spots in between.

problems with language and noise and cleanliness. not my first time to stay in a hostel. have travelled the world on budget accommadation. this has been the worst..... have stayed in other hostels you have reccomaned and they have been fun clean friendly and secure. was disappointed with stay

I was traveling by myself in Hungary so I made a reservation for this hostel for May 25 and when I got there it was closed and no one had bothered to tell me. I was very unimpressed. PS DO NOT GO TO SIOFOLK at the end of may, no one else is there!

We got there and the place wasn't even open! I hope the booking charge will be refunded considering it let us book and the place was closed.
