Base Auckland is located in the heart of the city, central to shops, cafes, museums and the Sky tower. It's only a few minutes' walk to the train, bus and ferry terminals, and to Vector Arena. The airport bus (Airbus) stops right outside our door!
Our quality hostel offers comfy beds in a clean, modern and secure environment. Our rooms range from private en-suite doubles to small and large dorms. Our facilities include 24-hour reception, patrolled security, swipe card access, a high-speed wireless internet cafe, a large modern kitchen with communal area and laundry, luggage storage, two Sky TV lounges, and travel centres. We are also home to the Globe Bar, featuring nightly entertainment and theme nights!
All rooms have fridges and fully made-up beds with hotel-quality linen for free, including a pillow and duvet. There's under-bed lockers in the multi-share rooms and we also offer the Base Sanctuary wing - rooms for girls only.

of the 12 nights I stayed in New Zealand each of which were at hostels this was the worst. the staff clearly didn't want to be there, we paid for a dorm of 4 but were not tolled till we arrived that it was already sold out due to a concert so they split us up and charged us the same price. the bathrooms were filthy, of the 4 under bed foot lockers me and my friends had only 1 was not filled to the brim with rubbish the remaining was only half full. mark, from Australia ~ 16th Jan 2013

Baggage storage charged, I've never seen that before. No windows in a the room, bas aeration system. Only 3 showers for the all floor, really not enough. And need to be careful because there is no shower curtain... Marie, from France ~ 15th Dec 2012
