Riad El Pacha or governor Riad is built in the 18th century to be the palace of the governor of Essaouira in that time. Purchased by European youth in the late 70s, this jewel of the Arab Andalusian architecture becomes the first hostel in Essaouira. A meeting place for the musicians (jimi hendrix , cat stevens )and artists and writers for all the world

Ideally located in the heart of the medina of Essaouira, Riad El Pacha allows easy access to many cultural and tourist sites such as the port, fish market, many arts and craft businesses and the place where the Gnawa music festival in the world takes place each year.
If you come to Essaouira Mogador Airport, by car, you need to get on the N1 north towards the town of Essaouira. When you reach the first junction, the dividing lines N1, you should go left to get to Essaouira. Then you must turn left and walk along the Avenue El Aqouasse then turn right on Avenue Lalla Aicha. Take the first left, Rue Moulay Youssef, and then you turn left again Muhammad Zerktouni Ave. Continue along Avenue Mohammed Zerktouni, then turn right onto Rue D Oujda. Then you must turn left onto Avenue Sidi Mohammed Ben Abdallah. Continue on this road until you reach Rue Abderrahamane Eddakhil. Turn right onto this road and continue until the destination

Room is basic but with very nice atmosphere with the warm color wall, & blue/yellow ceiling which looks like blue sky & sunshine! Roof top is also a aurprise. Its almost the tallest building in the neighbourhood. Hear the wave sound & crying of seegulls there.
