The place is terrific and the staff was highly responsive to quests' needs. Guests tend to be highly social and on a Sunday night partying goes on well beyond midnight. The only concern would be that everybody in the hostel hears well when the doorbell goes on. Andrei, from Russia ~ 9th Nov 2009

I have stayed in many hostels around the world from Singapore to LA and dozens of cities in-between, but Bairro Alto Travelers is by far the best I have ever stayed at, which goes for friendliness, character, security, location - everything! Location: ideal; taff: nice, helpful, make you feel welcome and at home. Don't be too sensitive as to noise - streetlife below and - at times - from other guests. For us it was no problem. Cleanliness in such a place depends a lot on the guests' cooperation, so you can't blame the staff for lady guests not removing their strands of hair from the washbowl. We liked the hostel very much. Un lindo hostel muy calido y agradable ubicado en una buena zona. Consejo, no pidan la habitacion que esta cerca de la cocina. ;-) la gente se reune a charlar en la cocina y puede moletar un poco el ruido. Por lo demas muy bueno! Federico, from Spain ~ 12th Apr 2009

The man that welcomed us was great, but he didn't inform us about important things. So we had to make some changes that we didn't plan. The kitchen is nice and I loved the simple breakfast, however the others guests didn't clean/wash their things. The owners should explain that is important to all!
