As always, Barnacles was clean and comfortable. However, having initially asked was there any vacancies I was basically told no and asked to try a different hostel. Thus, I went to a net café to check this site for other hostels with availability. Not only was there availability at Barnacles, three of the beds in the six-bed mixed dorm were empty. The things that are important, security, location, staff Barnacles excels at. I was within waking distance of everything. Only took a bus to and from the airport. Character, fun, and Cleanliness... I didn't feel that the hostel was dirty at all. Could be cleaner, but couldn't everything? You get what you paid for... and I don't expect character and fun from a hostel, it's cheap so you can go create your own fun. Staff was AWESOME, very helpful.
