It was pretty good, liked how you could get into the pub rom inside base. elevators didnt work,helped me get a bit fitter. and bathrooms were smelly and a bit dirty and the door to the bathroom had to be rammed to open it.

You guys have potential. The celaning staff comes in everyday and it's still very dirty. And I don't think that it's ok for the keycards not to work. Your location is great, but you really need to work on the keycards. It's a pain when you have to swipe it more than ten times, just to get to the toilet or your room, and it still doesn't work.

The 10 bed dorm was a good deal on the net at $20 a night but be warned this is a party hostel so don't go to a 10 bed unless your up for no sleep and drinking every night ;). When I had to move rooms I went to an 8 bed for $28 (ask for rooms 212-230 as they\'re brand new and have en-suite bathrooms). Def worth it.The reception staff are bloody useless, especially the sour faced guy on the night desk....definitely not the reception i wanted after a 13 hour bus ride, didn\'t tell me anything abou

The Base has to be the best chain of hostels in Australia. I stayed at one in Melbourne and also in Sydney. Both were great. There is always someone helpful and friendly at the desk. Lots of activities including drink and food specials at the ultra nice bar. The only thing I could ask for is a few hooks in bathroom to put towels at the sink and some shelf in the shower to put soap and shampoo bottles. Do yourself a favor and stay here. It's close to everything. You can walk to Chinatown,

I’m pleased to hear you enjoyed staying at the Hostel’s in Australia, if you thought our Base’s are good and are still travelling around you should try out the ones in New Zealand, there is even bigger and better activities happening over there.
I think it’s an excellent idea for extra hooks, I’ve passed the request on and we are looking into having some more fixed.

Kitchen gets extremely busy around meal times cos there's not that much space to make anything so eat early or late
