This is a great place to stay. It may seem a bit out of the way at first sight but in fact you can easily walk down-town in 15 mn or ride the tram which is just around the corner. Funk hostel deserves its name: you can really have a good time and meet nice people there, but at the same time, it's clean and you can have a good night sleep also (it's quiet in the dorms). Was not expecting much given the low price and was happily suprised with a lovely new hostel with a great kitchen, awesome chilled out lounge and a room with a little balcony. Kitchen cooking area was a bit grotty but that's a reflection on the hostel visitors not staff (come on people, do unto others and clean up after yourselves!). Only downside for me was the smoke from the bar creeping up the stairs into the kitchen as I'm not used to smoking inside. Free laundry was very welcome! Michelle, from New Zealand ~ 12th May 2011
