When we checked in for a 2 mixed dorm and got in the room, we got a bit embarrassed \'cause there was JUST a bed. They gave us 2 sheets of clean linen, though. HOWEVER, I have to confess that it was my first stay at a hostel ever which offers you the least amenities with the most friendliness. Pleasant Antonio will bring you to amazing White Sand through pretty towns such as La Mesilla. Enjoy your stay at Gardner Hotel!

The main areas were reasonably clean, but the room I slept in was dirty. It needed renovation and it was clear that it had not been cleaned in a long time.

Staff were helpful and location was good but the rooms were very shabby, bathrooms not clean and very primitive I've experienced better in rural Africa. Hotel reception has interesting collection of memoribillia worth a look though.

Staff very helpful, and they do an excellent tour of the area, including a trip to the white sands.

Fantastic place, you just have to go to mexican side city - Juarez. GREAT.

Right in the gay district, which is pretty much the only bit of downtown El Paso in which anything happens. Lack of wireless internet is a bit of a hassle but the Percolator is a cool place about 2 blocks down Oregon and provides that easily enough.

It's located in downtown. Didn't stay too long. The staff is extremely helpful. The hotel is old, rooms are okay, average hostel quality.

The nightlife around the hostel is "unique." However, the bars and nightclubs around University of Texas El Paso are worth the 1 mile trip north on Mesa street.
