The staff were exceptionally, unusually, friendly, which is a nice change from being treated like travel cattle in some of the high-turnover hostels. The location is superb if you want centrally located, it's the heart of SF. It wasn't spacious, but wasn't cramped either, and not too many beds per room, which I really liked. Again, everyone was delightful and pleasant, I will definitely stay there again and don't hesitate to recommend it to travellers.

If you're not a diva and are looking for something cozy, with friendly, fun people in a great location (right in Nob Hill, for crying out loud!), this place is for you.

In comparison to other hostels: Globetrotters Inn is nothing special. It's close to the attractions (Shopping/Cable Car), but that's no challenge in San Francisco. Other hostels are closer to Fisherman's Wharf/Golden Gate. Staff is unfriendly and rude, if you dare to complain about any thing. Missing security lockers reduce personal comfort. The guests were the only nice experience.

Their wireless internet router isn't large enough to handle more than 3 laptops at a time. I was unable to connect with my laptop for the whole 3 days I was there. They only had two computers to access internet and it was difficult to find one available during the time that I was at the hostel.

When I was booking this hostel I was afraid because I saw some bad reviews on-line. But I was return from my trip and I loved the hostel. They did a really great job. I strongly suggest this hostel. If one day I return to San Francisco I'll stay @Globetrotters again.

On the edge of a seedy neighborhood, but you don't have to go through the bad area to get to it...there is a Hilton hotel right across the street. The place was clean, cute decorations, and the staff was nice.

The location of this hostel is perfect, and it is easy to get around in San Francisco fro here. It was clean with a nice big kitchen and the owner was very friendy.

one tip if staying here = Do NOT turn LEFT out of this hostel!!!!. I made this mistake & 1 x block left & you are right in the ghetto. Me > single white female alone .. very intimidating area, turned around pretty sharpish i can tell you. However, the other way, right, is bang in the center of great shopping & bars etc of market street. Free internet at the hostel was brilliant, more hostels should offer this. Staff were very friendly & helpful too.
