The staff were very accommodating, helped us by keeping luggage safe after check out. Would certainly visit again.

This is the best hotel in madrid for me. The location is perfect. It's only 100m from Plaza espana metro. The room is clean. There are bed sheet, towel, shampoo, everthing u need. My room even has a tv and a closet. There is no air-con in room but a fan is good enough.
Only bad thing here is they dont have computer for internet. But they do have WiFi for free though. Mcdonald and KFC is near hotel, so no breakfast is fine for me. There is no common room. So im not recommend for party people. O

Great location, very friendly staff, clean and tidy. I would recommend Hostal Santillan to anyone visiting central Madrid who just wants a place to sleep for cheap.

If you don't want to stay at a youth hostel and if you don't want a hostel that will keep you up all night, this is perfect for you. We had a huge room with 3 beds in it and your own private bathroom. Pretty much like a little hotel. Great location on Gran Via, a little sketchy at night but nothing to serious. The staff is polite and there is one english speaking guy that works there usually during mid day. It gets pretty hot but each room has a fan. Don't be afraid of the elevator.
