grimey and dark. both my boyfriend and I suffered lots of bedbug bites, the beds are not clean. water was hot for one day out of 4. the staff are ok but can be pretty rude at check out time. too pricey for what you get but that is purely location. big problem for us:no kitchen or common room and food and drink is expensive in amsterdam - unless you like eating chips all the time..

While the location was great there was no meeting area in the hostel to make friends and thin walls and a tendency to echo meant that everyones conversations in their rooms could be heard. The bar really needs to start running some sort of promotional stuff to get people in or hostel residents staying in the bar

On the morning of 3/29/08, my companion and I walked from our Globe apartment down the street to the Globe bar for an advertised "All American breakfast." But when we got there the man serving wouldn't give us the time of day to take our order and when my companion asked how to go about ordering coffie he said, "I'll bring you your fucking coffee... don't start with me." Other guests were extremely noisy, could not sleep for 2 nights, we complained and were moved to room where toilet didn't work. Rooms small and dirty, and way overpriced!!

It certainly isnt the worst hostel in Amsterdam. Right in the red light district, very close to coffee shops and cafes. Its quite a stroll to the museums and more cultural side of the Dam, but if u just want a place to rest your head between sessions and going out on the town, then Fuckin' A this is a pretty good choice. Beds are awesome.

The woman who attended us was very rude and aggressive. In the share rooms people were smoking pot (I don’t have problem with smoking a joint, it’s Amsterdam but not inside the room were I’m going to sleep at 2 am in the morning). Basically the place is dirty, the attention is bad and people are rude. I really do NOT recommend this place. My experience there was horrible.

Vraiment un lieu parfait pour qui veut passer un bon séjour a Amsterdam.En plein centre, chambres plutot tranquilles, staff sympa. C sure que c'est pas le grand luxe mais pour dormir et faire la rumba c'est niff. Bon quand j'y étais, les sanitaires étaient en rénovation, une douche pour 30 c'est un peu limite, mais que de bons souvenirs de cette ville magique.

Security was the one thing this hostel had going for it. The lack of warm water, comfortable beds, and heating in the rooms made our stay almost unbearable. Had the flights not been so expensive last minute we would not have stayed for another night.
