This is a guesthouse I would recommend to those looking for easy transport access and an accomodation with a cozy and quiet character. Yashi the owner is a cool guy. I missed the delicious breakfast he makes, though simple it is served to us in a thoughtful and hospitable manner. This is the best hostel I have ever had the pleasure of staying at. The owner and staff work very hard to keep the place clean and to make guests feel welcome. I stayed there for 5 nights and the owner often took guests out to different restaurants and for walks around the city. He made an effort to get to know everyone and to create an environment which encouraged guests to socialize with one another. where tom start? possibly the best place i have ever stayed at, such an awesome experience yashi is such a great host, even took us out for tea one night! deffinetly reccomens this to anyone that is going to kyoto, the hostel is in a great location whith public teansport and plenty of resturaunts. thanks for the experience sam, from Australia ~ 27th Oct 2009
