Compared to other hostels in Munich, this hostel is too far away from train station. That said, it is clean & well-run, though a bit too popular with junior high school groups. Brittney, from USA ~ 7th Nov 2009

It wasn't that close to the city center and there is really nothing around it as far as restaraunts, shopping, etc. I stayed in a dorm with 6 beds and the bathroom was in the room, but I had to wait an hour to use it in the morning, which was very inconvenient. It was also very hot in the room. The washer was out of order and my key wasn't working 1 night. The staff was friendly and helpful though. The hostel was just ok, but I wouldn't stay here again. I only stayed one night, so didn't have much time to interact with the other travelers or use the recreational facilities. Bathroom and bed were alright; the only thing was that the room smelled heavily of men b/c most of the ppl were and the room was kept quite stuffy. It's an easy 15-20 min walk from the hostel to town center, but the S bahn station is also nearby. Staff was helpful. Siu-Wei, from USA ~ 4th Aug 2009

Colourful and well thought out hostel, great breakfast and some good features, very helpful staff and nice roof terrace. Very noisy location on main road though and quite a walk to the centre of town, in a neighbourhood where there isn't really much to do or see. VICKI, from Ireland ~ 4th Aug 2009

This was a great hostel and the next time I travel abroad I will stay at the Meninger. The staff were friendly and helpful and very efficient. My only compaint would be that it as very noisy in the mornings - I had a private room and I could hear people in the next rooms and corridor very easily. Esther, from England ~ 9th Jun 2009

A very nice hostel overall. A fun bar on the main floor. Very helpful staff, which is an important issue for me. The location isn`t great...its about a 5-minute walk to the city center or a 40-minute walk. There`s a pretty good restaurant across the street, though. The rooms themselves are pretty nice, each with their own bathroom and not too overcrowded (I stayed in a 14-bed dorm and it wasnt bad). Landon, from USA ~ 25th May 2009
