I got a twin room to myself for 5 nights. Very happy. Only gripes, no locker in the room, no phone in the hostel. No atmosphere. Internet should be free. Robert, from England ~ 14th Mar 2010

I stayed at the Miami in 2006 and was impressed by its character, location, staff and standards of cleanliness. When I returned to Melbourne for work opportunities, I knew that I would stay at the Miami again. great friendly and helpful staff. Room and facilities were neat and clean. Walls are a bit thin, but I was too exhausted from my days anyhow to notice. Location is at the north western corner of Melbourne, but has easy access into the center (10 min by tram) or even walking. Great experience, would definitely recommend! Excellent place to stay. Terrific location next to a train stop that takes you anywhere into the city in 5 minutes. You could walk if you want, but there's no need to with this train. staff were super friendly and always more than willing to help with information on how best to get around and whatnot. rooms were clean on arrival, and kept clean throughout our stay (i think someone even folded my jeans at one point. which was nice). the only downsides were the need to use your roomcard to get into the toilets (particularly frustrating on one occasion!), and the limited opportunities for interaction, but apart from that, it was super duper! would recommend, aye.
