Welcome to Chester Street! We are a wonderfully colourful kiwi villa with a warm atmosphere and personal friendly service set in a quiet residential street only 8 minutes walk from the city centre.
Sunny verandah, gardens, fresh herbs, sunflowers and inside we have full kitchen facilities, lounge, free phone and cheap internet. Free WIFI in winter. Also available, a selection of budget sleeper vans and cars for sale.

Chester St has only 7 rooms so please try & book early. To keep the room prices low, we dont have ensuite rooms, but every room is made up with linen. We can accommodate late arrival travellers. Also available is a selection of budget sleeper vans & cars for sale which have a buy back guarantee. Sure to please!

We were disappointed to arrive and find out that the hostel only accepts cash. This would have been helpful to know ahead of time from Hostels.com. Additionally, Hostels.com says that Chester Street Backpackers offers free WiFi, but this is not true. WiFi costs $4/day. One of the reasons we chose to stay here was the advertising of free WiFi and were disappointed when we arrived. Other than that, the hostel was average.
