Since 01/01/11, Rome City Council charges €2 per person per night on tourists who visit Rome. However, the Alessandro Downtown is a hostel-licensed property so you are not required to pay this tax :-) There's no curfew but our cleaning hours are from 10am to 3pm. There is no lock-out during the day, but we do ask that you help our cleaners out by staying out of their way as much as possible during their work. Reception is open 24hrs throughout the year. Late arrivals accepted. Check-in: from 3pm. You're welcome to leave your luggage with us during the day before check-in or after check-out. Please make sure to inform us of any changes to your estimated arrival time. Alessandro Downtown Hostel is part of the Hostelling International (HI) and Associazione Italiana Alberghi per la Gioventu' (AIG) networks. Any guest who presents an HI membership card upon check-in will enjoy special guest privileges, such as two hours of free internet use, one free drink at the hostel bar (located at our sister hostel, Alessandro Palace), and €1 discount off our Rome walking tours. For guests from outside of Italy, it's possible to buy an IYHF (International Youth Hostel Federation) membership card, which is valid for one year from the date of purchase, at the hostel reception. The full membership card costs €18, or else the basic card with one Welcome Stamp costs €3. Please note: you need six Welcome Stamps to obtain full membership. For Italian guests, the individual AIG membership card costs €3 and is valid for one year from the date of purchase. Italian students with the IO STUDIO card can claim an AIG card free of charge. Please note that we only accept group bookings of up to eight people via Hostelworld.com. If this term is not respected, we reserve the right to cancel the reservation/s without any notice. The deposit is non-refundable. Payment is due upon arrival. Credit cards accepted. We have a 48hr cancellation policy. Late cancellations and no-shows shall be charged the equivalent of the first night's accommodation. Cancellations and changed are only accepted via email or fax. Phone cancellations/changes are not accepted. Airport pick-up can be arranged upon request. Fee for 1-4 persons with four suitcases: from €57 per car. Fee for 5-8 persons with one suitcase per person: from €12 per person. The stated price is minimum tariff; the fee varies depending on flight arrival time and airport (Fiumicino / Ciampino). It must be requested least three days prior to arrival as we need to check availability. For further details, please inquire by email AFTER making reservation.
