Acerca de Hostelling International - San Diego Downtown
Address: 521 Market St, CA 92101, San Diego, USA
Now the only hostel in San Diego offering Air Conditioned Private rooms! All private rooms with bathrooms contain an A/C, mini-fridge, and i-pod/phone radio and docking station.
In the midst of the bustling Gaslamp Quarter, San Diego Downtown hostel offers you a place to rest, recharge, and interact with your fellow nomads. This nonprofit hostel has been shaped and maintained by its ferociously attractive staff who have injected their encyclopedic knowledge of San Diego into their hostel. But you don't have to look too hard to find their impression upon the hostel -- you can see it at their 'Hostel Takeover,' a quarterly event with local art, live music, and food, or by heading out on one of the weekly guided pub crawls to popular bars. Within a few stone throws of the Greyhound, Amtrak, and public transit, the hostel's location serves as a nexus to all things San Diego. Feel free to test the staff's knowledge at the front desk during their hours of operation from 7:00 AM to 6:59 AM.
The hostel's staff are in the strictest compliance with San Diego's mandatory casual attitude, but don't let their laidback style fool you -- the staff works hard to provide their guests with an excellent and uniquely 'San Diego' experience during their stay. Their daily breakfasts and semi-weekly dinners include bread, fruit, and vegetables purchased from local farmers. Want to purchase your own food from local farmers? Join the staff on one of their weekly guided trips to the farmer's market. Remember to check out the 'staff picks' board in the lobby that's updated daily for recommendations on local restaurants, bars, and events.
Travelers who have recently been freed from the horrors of a crowded bus or plane can take comfort in the hostel's spacious rooms or freshen up in the single-use bathrooms. Feel like staying in after a long day of traveling? San Diego Downtown hostel's got the introverts covered with free movie rentals, free access to the TV room, free Wi-Fi, and even a small book collection donated by fellow travelers.
With a variety of rooms to choose from, the hostel has options for everyone from starving students to vacationing families. So if you're feeling bold, come stay classy in San Diego Downtown hostel

The staff were really helpful and the location and links to public transport were excellent Read Owner Comments Sophie, from England ~ 23rd Jan 2013

It was a good place in general conveniently located in heart of downtown San Diego. I read the review that said it is pretty noisy so I made a request \"the place as quiet as possible\" when I made a reservation. However, the front person made me put the noisiest room just beside the main street for some reason. Also only one girl in the front was not really in a good mode. The others were pretty nice.Beside those 2 thins, things there were pretty good. Read Owner Comments Chieko, from Japan ~ 30th Sep 2012
