Ritoque Raices in Valparaiso, Chile

Located right on the beach, Ritoque Raices Hostel offers dormbeds (with ocean view) and double rooms (en-suite or semi-private), in 2 different buildings to guarantee a \'home away from home\' feeling, rather than a big hostel factory.

Here at Ritoque Raices Hostel we have a ´recycling station´, 2 kitchens, hammocks, a fire place, BBQs, chill-out areas and sun lounges, to make the most of your stay on our beautiful beach!

Please note that the ´Private Double shared Bathroom´ is the loft of one of our houses. It is upstairs but has no doors (otherwise you wouldn´t see the ocean). Therefore it´s more a semi-private really (an option that doesn\'t exist on Hostelworld).

We here at Ritoque Raices, believe in the importance of sustainability and the fragility of our nature and culture. All our operations therefore follow the concepts of sustainable tourism: we recycle actively, use alternative energy sources, work only with local and independent partners who share our sustainable believes, and try to conserve the surf culture and history of this amazing place by sharing with and educating foreign travellers as well as locals!

Ritoque Raices is the ideal place to get away from the Gringo Trail fro a while and explore the beaches, swells and nature of Chile\'s V Region, try some new & crazy activities or simply chill!!

Wanna surf? No worries, learn how to surf where surfing in Chile started. We offer surf and bodyboard lessons for all levels, taught by professional surfers and surf instructors!

As we are located on a beautiful beach and believe in socializing with each other, we do not have internet facilities (or a TV) but there are loads of cyber shops in close by Quintero.

Take a day trip to close by Viña del Mar or Valparaiso, instead of the other way around!

PS: Remember to bring strong sunscreen… you will need it during the day!

Depending on the daily conditions and your ability we get you to the most suitable beach so you can enjoy some of our beautiful waves. Playa Ritoque is surrounded by loads of beaches, all with their different breaks and swells.

We are in the region Valparaiso NOT Valparaiso City. Viña is 45min by bus & Valparaiso is 1 hour by bus. Buses leave every 15 minutes.
