More like a motel feel. Not a bad location. Some of the staff are pretty cool. The deluxe private is really nice, but some of the dorms have people who have been in there for ages and have made the place dirty, i dont even think the cleaners can get in to clean it up. But overall ok place to stay. Pretty social. Met some amazing people there. But dont say i didnt warn you about Freddy.
there is nothing to complain about - cheap and easy

Great location! Dorms are best we've stayed in so far. Good kitchen and bathroom facilities. Tv in dorms, with satelite. Free internet, but far too slow, not really worth using. Free meals and bbq some nights. Only downside was cleanliness, was cleaned daily but kitchen was always filthy and we had a mouse in our room which staff didnt do anything about. Other than that, all good

I stayed at two of the banana bungalows and the first one(603 N. Fairfax) had one umfriendly staff member but I didn't get her name. The second( 5920 hollywood blvd)) was a girl by the name of Jill that was very unfriendly our whole stay other than that is was really good.As soon as we came in to pay the first day, she rudrly said to us "We don't take locals!" ,I said, " I don't know what you mean", she repeats herself and the follows it by a quick explanation. Then I tell her we are not americanor from the United States ,so she than says "well lets see your passports then?" (rudely and makes me feel like we are liars.) I show her and she looked surprised. We didn't really want to stay at that point, but we stuck it out and it turned out pretty good although anytime I had to talk to her ,She was less than friendly (and that's putting it nice). The other person that can make people feel unwelcome is the oriental guy who cooks the barbecues but he can cook pretty good, and I think that the guy who drives the shuttle from hostel to hostel ,should worn people when he's going back to base , so a person doesn't get stranded, other than that, he's really a nice guy. Thank you for giving me the oppertunity to comment. Isabelle
