Hostel closes for most of the day and you have to vacate it. If the weather's sour and you just want to loaf around reading in bed that's too bad. It's location is off the beaten path and not easily accessible unless you have a car. Walking there while touting luggage is no fun.

True mountain chalet with lovely atmosphere even in summer. Distance from bus stop in village is longer (about 2,5 km), but it shorten your way to the mountains. I enjoyed very much.

Very far away from Glencoe Village, though it is near to the path to the actual Glen.

The staff wasn't very friendly. Regarding the showers, they were filthy. The location is not very good: I was on foot and this hostel is quite far from all amenities.

No way to talk about cleanliness here! the rooms smelled awful and during the night you hear mice running in the ceiling. the staff isn't friendly at all and the hostel isn't cosy.It was built in 1939 and I don't think that they have changed anything since then. The location is great when you have a car. Located in a forest where it is really quiet and nice to relax. If you are backpacking without car the remote area may be a bit annoying. The village is 1.5 miles away and there are no pubs or anything else in the near surrounding. In the village is a very small shop where you can buy food etc. but it's always a little journey... If you want to make some longer hiking tours bear in mind, that it is quite difficult to get to the mountains from there. All in all I won't stay there again!!!!
