When we booked a night at Rosanda Hostel, it was last-minute and we were glad to have somewhere to stay. However, getting to and staying at the hostel was a very. very stressful experience. We followed the directions given on HostelWorld's webpage but these failed to give any details other than what busstop to get off at. Stranded in a University campus for an hour and a half, no one picked up the phone at the hostel. No-one around had even HEARD of Rosanda Hostel. It was not signposted, so a member of staff (?) had to come and collect us. At that point I was very much feeling as though the whole thing was a total waste of our time. This feeling increased when we realised that the running water in the dingy ensuite came out brown - this goes for the shower and toilet too - and our room was situated directly above a building site. We were not told about this beforehand and so spent our stay shouting at each other above noise that made the room shake, and started at 7.30 in the morning. The stay, however brief, was a stressful one which I do not wish to have repeated. Having said that, though, we were given our money back and the situation was explained to us as not being entirely Rosanda's fault. It became apparent that we were not expected, as it had not officially opened as a hostel. I am therefore confused as to how we managed to book a room there, seeing as it was advertised on HostelWorld.
