This is a great little hostel with really friendly helpful staff and a good atmosphere- I met lots of nice people there. The owners Hassan, Peter, and Shehab work really hard to make the place like a second home and make sure you're having fun! The location is right downtown near the museum. Just two bits of advice- ask for the hostel to arrange a pickup at the airport because my taxi driver had a really hard time finding the place, and also it can be noisy at night but earplugs work wonders!

The hostel itself is clean, breakfast is sparse (but more than adequate). Our tour to the pyramids was arranged by the hostel. Our guide (Sharrif)scammed us out of $100 US for a camel ride. Watch out... the govt has set a price of 25 LE/PERSON/HOUR at the pyramids. He's a liar......

Cairo can be a drain on western travellers, but this place is a total oasis. Staffed by certified Egyptologists and just all round great guys, its a cozy clean place to stay and ruminate on the days events. I wouldn't stay anywhere else!
