They should clean the rooms daily if staying more than one or two nights.

Stella Hostel is very nice, the prices are quite good but you must know that booking in internet is not very recomendable here because some of the rooms they offer in internet doesn't exists. The staff is very friendly and there are a lot of people from different countries. The swiming pool is great and you can see the sea from there. We recomend this hostel/

great value for the money and Lucky, the owner/manager comes across as a great guy. we had some mishaps though: our large room was freezing at night--this was the beginning of april--and I awoke numerous times during the night trying to get warmer (as we were checking out, we learned that the other party had complained about the cold and a space heater was being set up). the bathroom sink drained on to the bathroom floor, seeped out into the large dorm room and saturated the carpet. although, we booked something like a 6 person room, we were put in an 18 bed dorm room--with a group of very loud and inconsiderate aussies. there was no hot water at night or the next morning--next morning we were told that Lucky forgot to turn it on. although hostels.com says that Lucky will pay for your taxi from the bus station, no one was at the front when we arrived (albeit) early so we had to pay the taxi driver ourselves...when we mentioned this to Lucky he didn't offer to reimburse us. that was the bad. this was the good: the view from all of the rooms is amazing--it's got an amazing location. bar and pool looked like great places to hang out during the right season. my traveling companion socialized with the aussies (they were tour guides in training) and got a free bbq meal and a few beers even though Lucky had said initially that there would be a small charge. coffee, tea, and internet were complimentary as well. because of these perks (and Lucky ingratiating himself with my traveling companion), we didn't feel that we were gipped enough to complain (it was only like 10 euro per person per night). overall, I wouldn't expect better in kusadasi. stay here but don't expect too much comfort unless things have changed before your arrival.
