The location is pretty central to everything (and only 3 mins walk to Egyptian museum). The staff are helpful but it seems only really helpful if you s want to book on one of their tours. The rooms are basic, but fine, and the toilets and showers are averaging clean. I guess overall what you can only expect for 3 to 4 euros per night. Overall ok, and we´d probably go there again as its so cheap. No really hassles at all.

The staff are really friendly and you never know who you might meet. Its great sitting under the starry sky with the sounds of Cairo around you. If you prefer the quite life, then Dahab is not for you, there's always lots of noise and new people to meet.

Definately recommend this place for its great atmosphere and friendly staff. This is probably the best budget hostel in Cairo. One particularly helpful staff member, Farid, suggested and arranged an incredible camping trip out into the desert for us. Amazing experience!
