Prepare yourself for rough conditions at $20-night. The owner was rude when we told him we didn´t want to stay at his facilities. We found a nice hotel with air condition and clean ammenities for less money!!!!! BEWARE!!

Its a bed and place to stay, Not much character really. The Location is average relative the hostels in the town. The staff was somewhat helpful, but as all people in Costa Rica, they are really only interested in selling you what they make money off of. Be skeptical. There were no lockers and the windows don't even have screens... makes me nervous. If someone were sly they could sneak in your room while sleeping. Cleanliness was average. *** There as a caged song bird that awakes every morning

Nice quiet location just a few blocks away from the main square. Large beds clean bathrooms, but no hot water while I was there. Not bad for the price. I felt safe wandering around at night even though the hostel feels like it is at the edge of town, there is a large open space at the end of the street. I think the best thing about the hostel is that just one step off the property you get an excellent view of the Arenal Volcano.
