404 hostel is quite different from others in a good way. the building is just like a house, so you'll feel comfortable as if you stayed at home. I love wooden beds, big bathroom and nice other guests! this is one of my favorite hostels in the world! Yuto, from Japan ~ 29th Mar 2013

The manager is very kind. You can get lots of info about Cologne from him. the room was really nice, quite. Showers and beds were clean. The only thing that I don't like is that the wifi is until 1a.m. In 1am~7am you can't use wifi. Jihye, from South Korea ~ 17th Sep 2012

Cute little hostel in Nippes, has a lot of charm.We stayed in the 6-bed dorm room, which was cozy. Cons: Beware that the beds are hard and the pillows thin.Also, there is no place to store excess luggage. Pros: Good price, right next to an U-Bahn stop, clean and colorful. I enjoyed my stay here as it was coming towards the end of my travels and I was looking for somewhere a bit quieter and less bustling. I stayed in the 6-bed ensuite and was very impressed.I got a single bed and the bathroom was just like my bathroom at home.There is a small kitchen you can cook in and the other people there were very pleasant.Location wise it is very close to subway station and there is a laundry and supermarket nearby, but quite a quiet residential neighbourhood. The 404 is a nice private hostel in Nippes/Köln. The owner opens not 24 hours but as soon u got a key u are free to come and to go when ever u want. Free WiFi and a little breakfast is offered in a common kitchen where is a nice opportunity to get into a talk. I recommend to read the description of the hostel to find it, otherwise it is easy to get lost in Cologne while searching it. All in all i can recommend to book this hostel. This hostel is the owners house.The location is only 4 stops from the Dom and the neighborhood is quiet at night. Probably not the best place to meet other travelers (due to its size).Its clean and the owner is friendly once you chat him up. Will, from USA ~ 20th Jun 2012
