We stayed in the Dakota Hotel, which seems to belong to the Hostel. Very loud, if your room is out to the street.

Nice and well-run hostel which is very centrally located near Union Square and in a nice neighborhood. Good beds with lockers underneath. Clean bathrooms (but towels are too big and unhandy). Friendly and professional staff - quickly rearranged persons so that we could stay an an extra night the first as we had made an error in the booking (remember that when you come from Europe, it is probably the _same_ day in San Francisco when you arrive...). Good and solid breakfast in a maybe little noisy

Friendly people, got lots of help from the brochures and staff. Couldn't get connected to the wireless network from the last floor, but that's fine, you could get connected on the ground floor and there's also plenty of computers around.
Pretty cozy decor.

This hostel was absolutely great. The staff were helpful and accomodating. The condition of the premises was immaculate, and it was so comfortable. The breakfast was also great, and available until 11am, which is unusual. The price is very competitive, especially considering its location. The people staying there were also quite nice, and despite its central location, I had such a peaceful nights sleep.
