Ultra-clean hostel. Everything was spotless. The bunk beds were very comfortable with firm matresses and warm comforters. The hostel offers nice facilities including free wi-fi, two modern computers, and a big flat screen TV with dvds people can watch in the common room. The kitchen has modern appliances and free tea. Hostel is in walking distance frommost of Ottawa's main attractions. The staff were helpful whan I had a request. I like this hostel very much and would stay here again. Centrally located hostels in Ottawa. I stayed in HI Jail Hostel as well and I liked my stay at Barefoot better. THey have a nice lounge/living area that the Jail Hostel doesn't have. The teenagers who were in the other room were very noisy after 1100pm quite time but I guess you can't fault the hostel for that. Plenty of couches and tables in the living area.
