This place was an absolute rip-off! I stayed at three hostels while in New York for three weeks and this was by far the most expensive and with the least benefits. The matresses for the beds should have been on the tip years ago, the bunk bed frames looked like they'd been welded together in someone's backyard shed and it was in everyone's opinion who stayed in our dormatory that they were dangerous. I have stayed here a number of times. A totally, enjoyable experience. The rooms and sheets may be a little old, but the staff, atmosphere, and location of the place are great.

The elevator was broken for the 4 nights I stayed there. Not fun when your room is on the 7th floor.
Also, the mattress was of very poor quality. The coils were piercing my back all night long.

It was reservation for five people and we were separated into different rooms for the first night. the next four we spend in one room. They said it is their fault and are very sorry. Bathrooms ok but the baths have to be removed and replaced by the new ones. They are very old and surface is damaged. Very tough to close the room, doors are old, old, old. Towels... just average. Free Wi-Fi? not in the room. You have to be in the lounge where is very cold, AC is spinning all the time and you can ge

I didn' like that there were no shelves in the room, we had to put our stuff on the floor. And the upper beds are easy to fell down from.
