I was booked to stay at this hostel but as I walked up to it I was instructed to follow a small child to a different hostel.No explanation until I reached the new hostel but still was very unhappy with the service especially after emailing the owner numerous times regarding my reservation.She had changed it and when I went to confirm she stated she didn't have the change.I then forwarded he emails showing she confirmed the change and guaranteed I would have a bed. Just below the city center and next door to a supermarket which is great. They staff are excellent and sell extras excursions for the lowest prices in town. They have a sign up sheet where you choose what you want for your free breakfast the next morning. They had a 3 person private room which was perfect.Very quiet place, only a handful of other people were there besides us.Monteverde is beautiful and the canopy tour with Extremo was one of the highlights of our trip.
