this is the worst hostel I've ever been.......no windows, no fresh air neither in the room nor in the corridor, I cannot breath in the building.........the facility not clean, actually very old. and there is no refund. definitely a cheat on customers. not recommend!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The kitchen should open earlier than 6.30 am (that usually were 7 because of staff late), as Cairns is famous for all those activities that unluckily starts at 7 am in the morning!! It should be also cleaned more carefully because there were lots of insects that climbed the walls and fridges were awfully dirty. My room didn't have a window....luckily I was not claustrophobic..but maybe a bit of colour on the walls instead of that dull grey would help...... Annamaria, from Italy ~ 1st Dec 2012
