It was all great - and I put "poor" for atmosphere because the hallways were so noisy at night - till 12:30 some nights! People running, jumping and of course, talking loudly. If the noise factor could be monitored more closely you'd've gotten all perfect scores! Oh yeah, I'm obviously sensitive to sound - the fridges in the kitchen are very loud too! Staff was great, abundant storage locker space in basement for ski/etc gear is really nice to have, shuttle to the mountain conveniently leaves from the hotel just across the street.Not a whole lot happening in Lake Louise unless you're on the mountain or otherwise engaged outdoors.Not cheap either, local market is super expensive and the 3 small cafes don't leave you with many food options. The place was very clean, staff friendly, including the staff at the restaurant. Food was great w/decent prices. The showers were always available. The only problem with the Lake Louise Hostel is the temperature of the sleeping rooms.It has been a long standing problem at this location.Even with the window open on a cool night, the heat in the room makes sleeping difficult.There is a definite air flow problem in the building design.Probably no easy solution but still worth noting.
