Hotel Raizan South in , Japan

I spent 12 nights at Hotel Raizen South and also spent 6 nights at a `4+ star hotel` near where I was working at a conference. I was amazed at the difference between the 2 hotels. OK, the room at the 4+ star was much bigger but the difference in price - under £20 compared with nearly £200 per night was totally unjustified- it`s a joke! I very much enjoyed staying at Hotel Raizen South & the people working there were very friendly & helpful - you certainly get much more than what you paid for Robert, from England ~ 17th Oct 2012

Great hostel! The staff was very friendly and extremely helpful. The room itself was cosy and very clean, so were the toilets and the shower rooms. The area where Raizan South is situated may not be very central, but the subway is just around the corner and it takes only two stops to get to Namba. In fact, you can easily walk to the hot spots (like Dotonbori, Namba, Shinsaibashi) within 20-30 Minutes. We felt absolutely secure walking around, during day- and night time. Stayed there for 3 nights coz of the location, very close to Subway (nearly 3 mins walk). Although the surrounding looks poor and unclean, it was pretty safe walking by our self at 12 midnight or more. The single room and its location are the winning points. I had a good stay here. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and cozy for a single. They had vhtapes which were amazing to witness. I didn't like the fact that the elevator was tiny and it took very long to go up and down. I also had to rush to take a bath, for there was a curfew. 2 or 3 showers for the whole hotel was not enough.
