I had a wonderful 4th of July in Knoxville. Al and Brian are fabulous, friendly and inclusive. The location of the hostel was great too, the old city and downtown were easily walkable.

Unfortunately I am forced to give all terrible reviews as when I arrived for my preplanned stay, the Knoxville Hostel was dark and locked. There were 2 numbers on the door, both of which went unanswered. I was forced to find alternative lodging late at night and was very frustrated.
