Portree Hostel - Waterford City in , Irland

Upon arrival, both staff members were short, cold and quite obvious about the fact they didn't want to be there. Before they greeted me in any form, they made me pay in awkward silence. The lady then proceeded to go through a list of rules, which were also posted on multiple pieces of paper on every since wall. They didn't turn the heat on at all and the bedroom was freezing (I visited early April). I ended up sleeping on the couch in the kitchen as it was warmer. Sharon, from Canada ~ 12th Apr 2013

It's located behind the Waterford Guinness Factory. There's not much to see in the front, but there is a lovely garden to make up for that. The beds are clean and everything gets cleaned everyday. The landlady is really helpfull and charming. There is a very nice kitchen with an Aga cooker! It's a whole happening just to cook on that thing. Along the kitchen is the living room, which is a bit tight, but a really nice place to meet other people. I really enjoyed my weekend over! JanWillem Anton, from Netherlands ~ 3rd Sep 2012
