Posada los Mapaches in Tulum, Mexiko

Excellent place in Tulum, really cosy and friendly. By far my favourite accommodation in Mexico, it has a rustic architecture and a beautiful patio and great bikes (whose rent is included on the price). The breakfast is amazing, a different dish every morning, and it is a great opportunity to meet other people. the customer service of the owners (Ms. Cello and her sons) was outstanding. Great place if you don't mind co-ed bathroom facilities which are several booths with a heavy shower curtain. The family/staff at Posada made me feel welcome as soon as I arrived. They provide a wonderful and safehostelling experience in a natural setting. Great location, close to everything, plus a bicycle and invaluable local information. Don't miss the gourmet breakfast and I won't ruin the speed bump surprise, haha. Remember to bring ear plugs and a small padlock for lockers. A beautiful place to spend a few days.Unfortunately our stay was cut short by time restraints, but the atmosphere at Posada los Mapaches was perfect. Chelo, the owner, and her son, Joakin, were unbelievable hosts. It felt like we had a grandmother looking after us! You're given bikes to check out the city, a multiple-course breakfast each morning and easy access into Tulum with the ruins just across the street.
