I can't think of a better hostel that I've stayed in over the years. The security and location are spot on. The staff are chill, yet professional. The vibe is ultra-relaxed, but that doesn't mean they slack on their jobs. They are locals who offer great advice. The bathrooms are clean. The rooms are comfortable, with touches like 4x outlets by your bunk with a mini-fan and light. This hostel is very well run, and I really appreciate that. Bohemian surfer lifestyle, 1 block to beach and good surfing near the pier. Lots of good eats and pubs walking distance. A cool spot with lots of interesting travelers on safari! Enjoy bro! Eric, from USA ~ 23rd Dec 2012

The hostel was extremely dirty, especially the bathrooms. The room was way too bright, with no curtains shielding the light coming in from the corridoor. I shared a room with a very annoying older lady- the hostel should try to make sure they place appropriate people in rooms together. The bed didn't seem clean, either, and it was wobbly going up/down the ladder to my top bunk. The location, however, was gorgeous- right on the beach, if that's what you're into. The cleaning staff forgot to lock/close the door to our twin private after cleaning it TWINCE! I'm glad nothing got stolen. It's right at Ocean Beach, which is great! Private showers/toilets. The breakfast was fine(with bread, pancakes and scramble eggs), not great but adequate. There are lots of people you can hang out with from all over the world! It was a bit cheaper than many other hostels I stayed at so I did not assume that they would have as many facilities as other hostels.
