I have literally never been in a worse hostel in my life. They charge 5% to us a card + they require a 10 pound key deposit + a deposit to use dishes, etc. Sheets and facilities were filthy. The staff was abrupt + rude. The location is about a 25 minute walk to Brighton b/c it's actually in Hove, the next town over. The atmosphere was terrible, common room was creepy, and I thought I was going to get murdered in the kitchen. If it wasn't the only place that had availability I would have left. We stayed in a private double with ensuite which was excellent, we would absoloutely stay there again. This was brilliant value for money and felt like a mini hotel room- large tv on wall, newly renovated bathroom etc. In the morning though we went through for breakfast (very, very basic) and saw the other side of the building. The bathroom was very dirty/rundown and we could see that we had stayed in the better side of the buliding! Not sure I'd stay there in a dorm! Heather, from Australia ~ 17th Feb 2013

Was right on the seafront, the people staying in our 18 bed dorm were friendly and reasonably quiet (even though it was a saturday night). Breakfast consists of toast, jam, cornflakes, tea, coffee and hot chocolate but simples are the norm in a hostel. Would come back here again. Nina, from England ~ 27th Oct 2012

need more mirror in 3 bedsingle room, one mirror in bathroom is not enuff for 3 ladies to put make up on.. so one big mirror in bedroom wud be brillant. and need lick of paints outside of window/door..fresh up!!! rhonda, from England ~ 29th Jul 2012

low quality breakfast. You have to pay two pounds to leave your luggage a few hours after check out. The room was nearly indecent and the price wasn't cheap at all: 31 pounds per person on saturday for a 4 bed mixed dormitory... To avoid. Monica, from Italy ~ 24th Jul 2012

Staff were not really nice. The room looked like a prison cell or a hospital room, and was not clean and smelly. The shower was dirty, we didn't even take one. There is not even a sink in the toilets to wash hands. We read on the Internet that the hostel was close to the station, whereas we had to walk 40 minutes to get there.
