We really enjoyed our stay at the San Francisco hostel - our room had a fridge and microwave as well as en-suite bathroom, and although there wasn't much natural daylight (the window opened onto a central light well) it was cosy and felt like home for four days. The staff were very friendly and helpful, some going out of their way to help such as when we were a bit late for breakfast one day. Only once did we feel the staff at the desk couldn't be bothered. This was a great place to stay with friendly staff happy to help you out with anything and a good location, only 5 blocks from Union Square. On the edge of SF's Tenderloin region, but I never felt unsafe- just don't walk around after dark alone.Locale is absolutely fantastic only a few blocks from some fantastic sites in the city never more 1 or 2 miles from anything.Some staff were very helpful while some were rude- hit or miss.Only negatives were that one morning I was counting on the conti breakfast but the kitchen was a disaster from guests who had trashed it the night before.Staff cancelled breakfast.
