Staffs of the house are mostly black, and so are the visitors. A staff at the front desk was not so patient that he urged my friend to pack our luggages out of their storage room. There were a refrigerator, a set of wardrobe and a small TV in the room. My room is next to the Godrich street, and noises of cars and people started early every morning. The facilities in the kitchen were poor. Overally, I would not choose YMCA Jewell House again if I have a chance to pay a second visit to Perth. LI, from China ~ 21st Oct 2012

My room was clean and I was happy with it, the lady at reception was friendly and helpful. The showers and toilet were not that great. I also expected a hostel for travelers on a budget but that does not seem to be the case. The people I saw in front of the building and in the elevator did not make me feel very safe. You definetly should clean the bathrooms! It was so dirty. It was one thing definetly terrible about the place. I don´t think you use any product in the toilets or in the showers. The walls were a kind of green. When you look in the corners you could see hairs and dirty deposited. It was just terrible! Alois, from Brazil ~ 22nd Aug 2010
