In general it's a very good hostel! The location is very good, safe and close to a Metro station. The breakfast is also good, stuffs are friendly. The only drawback is that the number of recharge socket in the room is too few.Only one recharge socket in a room is not enough! However,in the common place there are a lot of recharge sockets Zhelin, from China ~ 13th Mar 2013

When we first booked our trip to Paris we decided that location was more important than cleanliness when it came to hostels. We found Young and Happy and thought that it was perfect for our budget and the location was great (Mouffetard is an amazing street filled with bars, restaurant and is always fun at night!) When we arrived on Friday it was an amazing lounge area and the rooms were recently renovated and very clean. Great staff, other guests and lively area. Will stay again! megan, from USA ~ 1st Mar 2013

The hostel is very well located. When we arrived we had an amazing snack with different French cheeses, bread and Beaujolais nouveau wine. Staff was helpful and kind. Good value. Downsides: not many toilets, dirtiness MAYA, from Brazil ~ 15th Nov 2012

For a couple is ok if you are relax and no too much worry about noise and cleaning. for a couple of backpakers like us it is very good!we stay in a twin bed and it was ok,'cause mosty of the time we where walking in Paris streets. the best of this hostel are: good breakfast, you can make your own dinner, and it is fun but no crowdy, so you can meet people. secure. the lowest of the hostel is the cleaning of the bathrooms, a little mole smelling. Unbeatable location in the Latin Quarter in Paris. Not the cleanest/newest hostel I've ever stayed at, plus it was annoying because you had to move your stuff out of the rooms for them to clean during the day. Also a couple Euros an hour for Internet in the lounge area. But the staff was nice and I enjoyed drinking wine and meeting people at the communal tables downstairs. Way better located than similarly-priced Paris hostels, so I'd recommend it for a short visit. Elizabeth, from USA ~ 25th Sep 2012

This was the first and only hostel I looked into going to in Paris due to the time I had to plan my trip and I should have taken the previous reviews more seriously. The showers are terrible and disgustingly dirty. Often, the showers were cold. It definitely wakes you up first thing in the morning. Breakfast was OK with cereal and croissant. The flights of stair you have to take your luggage up to the room were narrow and steep. Every night was loud so bring your ear plugs. Kelvin, from Canada ~ 12th Aug 2012

The dowstairs area was very nice and the staff was very friendly and helpful. While the rooms were quite old(no outlets in the rooms and only one working shower in the hostel that I could find), the hostel was a fun place to stay. I would recommend this hostel for the atmosphere, but not the facilities. Nicholas, from USA ~ 4th Jun 2012
