Thank you for the friendly welcome and refreshments during our stay. Sorry we missed you when we left for the station but your wave from your Ryokan made us feel sad to leave. Thank you jacqualine & Brian

If you want to stay somewhere affordable that has an authentic Japanese feel, you should stay here. The staff was really nice. This place has a really convenient location close to the station and is very easy to find. It's a little old and the hallways are a little cluttered, but the rooms are very clean.

If only everyone would smile like the little old lady-owner! 'Japan very nice' was the longest sentence she could made but you dont need much words in this humble, homely place. Traditional japanese is what you get with even some surprising extra's like green tea and apples dropped in every now and then. Very easy to find and convenient location. We did get our own roomkey by the way. One advice to other tall Dutch people; watch your head with these low doors ;-)!

Owner's very lax about rules like curfew and stuff. Don't have to worry about that--

The woman who runs the place is so sweet. Even through she speaks little English, she is very accommodating, even when we accidentally woke her in the night! In contrast to everywhere else in Japan, the place was pretty shabby. Still fine to stay at (my expectations are probably exceptionally high given how immaculate Japan is) and the location near Kyoto station was convenient.
